If you can't take the grease
Stay outta' the dog house.

Senior year is upon me and it is a bit gloomy. Not that I'm having a bad year, but I've grown to enjoy Chapel Hill quite a lot. I don't even actively participate in campus life nearly as much as I used to. I just like being able to be a part of it if I choose. Post-college life sounds so...detached and mundane. Then again, what do I know? There's a lot to look forward too as well. If all remains well with Lake Inferior then life won't be much different at all aside from more free time.

I have a new puppy. He is a Corgi / Border Collie mix, his name is Snoop, and he is seriously the shit. I implore you all to come meet him. His best friend is Cheza Yaseen.

I stopped updating LJ because I didn't have Semagic on my Macbook. I'm currently on my IBM STINKpad (lol!) so I figured I'd take advantage of the easy breezy beautiful.

The 2008 VMA's were about as good as Flightplan.

Dax Out

Seriously...it's on the verge of blowing my mind. I wonder if they sit and think "Ok, what could I put at this part of the song to make it individual and unique?" or if all of that comes out completely natural in their writing. If the latter is the case, then I feel like they're some type of superior beings of genius. Some evolved organisms. The new humans. But that's stupid. Should I disect my music and insert little quips and quirks to make it more original (Oregano!)? "Do what you want!" Well, I want to do that...but I'm afraid that because I WANT to make it different, that's fake. I think I'm supposed to just make what comes natural and that's it, not try too hard to be unique. But I also genuinely believe that some *not all* bands that have those songs filled with sublte oddities take time to place them there for the sake of doing so, not because it was what sounded right at the time.

If I ever go solo, my stage name will be Beehive the Iceburger. But I suppose I should go...somewhere...first, before I can go solo.

I will soon be purchasing Rule of Rose and Okami. Xenosaga Episode III got great reviews, but I'm so upset that the series has *possibly* come to an end early that I can't bring myself to play it. Namco did state that they would possibly continue to Episode IV on the PS3 depending on demand or sales. If they decided to finish all six episodes, I would be a happy.

- Emma Reeves
